How to Install and Commission an Electric PTFE-Lined Ball Valve?

Installation and commissioning of an electric PTFE-lined ball valve require consideration of the lining, pipeline connection, electric actuator, and corrosive-medium conditions. Before installation, a USA VTON electric PTFE-lined ball valve should be checked for material compatibility and applicable operating conditions. During installation, the lining should be protected from mechanical damage, while commissioning should verify valve direction, limits, feedback, and sealing conditions.

1. Check the Valve Before Installation

After the lined ball valve arrives at the site, inspect its appearance, connection dimensions, model, and technical parameters. The lining and sealing areas should also be checked for abnormal damage caused during transportation or handling.

Verify that the medium, pressure, and temperature are within the applicable range of the valve. For corrosive media, particular attention should be paid to compatibility between the lining material and the process medium.

Sharp tools should not be used directly on the lining or sealing surfaces during installation.

2. What Should Be Considered During Pipeline Installation?

Before installation, make sure the pipeline is clean and prevent welding slag, metal fragments, or other hard particles from entering the valve.

The valve and pipeline should be properly aligned to avoid additional stress caused by eccentric installation. For flanged connections, bolts should be tightened evenly according to applicable installation requirements to avoid excessive localized loading.

Sufficient space should also be reserved around the electric actuator for wiring, operation, and maintenance.

Specific installation requirements for a USA VTON electric PTFE-lined ball valve should be based on the actual product documentation and operating conditions.

3. What Should Be Checked During Commissioning and Operation?

Before energizing the actuator, confirm that the power supply and control wiring are correct. During the initial movement test, first verify that actuator rotation corresponds to the required valve opening and closing directions, followed by checking the fully open and fully closed positions and limits.

If remote feedback is configured, verify that the control-system indication corresponds to the actual field valve position.

During operation, monitor valve movement and check for medium leakage or abnormal actuator operation. If an abnormal condition occurs, possible causes should be investigated systematically, including valve structure, lining, seals, actuator, and pipeline conditions.

At an industrial corrosive-media pipeline, an electric PTFE-lined ball valve can first undergo valve and lining inspection, followed by pipeline connection and electrical wiring. Controlled opening and closing tests can then verify actuator direction, limits, and feedback signals before operation under process conditions.

Application suggestion: During field installation, protect the lining and pay particular attention to medium compatibility, pipeline alignment, actuator installation, and control signals. For corrosive applications, provide complete medium parameters to USA VTON before determining the final configuration.
