The key points for installing and commissioning an electric stainless steel ball valve are correct pipeline connection, smooth valve operation, correct actuator direction, proper limit settings, and accurate feedback. USA VTON recommends checking valve specifications and operating conditions before installation, followed by mechanical installation and electrical commissioning.

1. Inspect the Valve and Actuator Before Installation
Check the valve model, nominal size, pressure rating, connection type, materials, and actuator configuration. The valve body, flange, and sealing surfaces should also be inspected for any abnormality.
The actual medium, pressure, and temperature should be compatible with the valve’s operating conditions. For the electric actuator, power supply, electrical interfaces, and control mode should be checked against the site control system.
2. Avoid Excessive Pipeline Stress
The pipeline should be properly aligned with the valve connection. During flange installation, bolts should be tightened evenly to prevent excessive stress caused by pipe misalignment or forced installation.
Adequate maintenance space should be provided around the actuator. The actuator should also be protected from unsuitable conditions such as water accumulation, excessive heat, or severe vibration.
3. Check Movement and Feedback After Power-Up
After mechanical installation, electrical commissioning can begin. Verify the power supply and wiring, then use a controlled operation to check actuator direction.
Next, verify fully open and fully closed positions and the corresponding limit settings. If position feedback is installed, confirm that the feedback signal corresponds correctly with the actual valve position.
Application Example
At a certain industrial automated pipeline, an electric stainless steel ball valve was installed for process-media on-off control. Pipeline alignment, connection tightening, and actuator clearance were checked during installation. After power-up, operating direction, limits, and feedback signals were verified so the valve could correspond correctly with the automation system.
Operating Advice
If the installation environment involves high temperature, humidity, dust, vibration, or corrosive conditions, these factors should be communicated during selection. For frequent operation, operating cycles and frequency should also be provided so that the electric actuator can be properly configured.
