The key to installing and commissioning an electric forged steel ball valve is to ensure correct pipeline connection and then verify actuator direction, limits, and control feedback. USA VTON recommends checking the valve specifications, pressure rating, connection type, and installation space before installation.

1. Verify Specifications and Operating Conditions
Check the valve model, DN size, pressure rating, materials, connection standard, and electric actuator configuration. The actual medium, pressure, and temperature should also be verified against the applicable operating conditions.
The valve body, connection ends, sealing surfaces, and ball movement should be inspected before installation. The actuator power supply, wiring, and control requirements should also be confirmed.
2. Maintain Proper Pipeline Alignment
When connecting the valve to the pipeline, avoid forcing the pipe into position by pulling or pushing it against the valve. Proper alignment helps minimize installation stress.
Flange bolts should be tightened evenly. Other connection methods should follow the applicable installation procedure. Sufficient space should be provided around the actuator for operation and maintenance.
For heavier valve-and-actuator assemblies, appropriate support should be considered according to site conditions to avoid unnecessary loads on the pipeline.
3. Perform Actuator Testing After Power-Up
After installation, verify the power supply and control wiring before testing the actuator.
During commissioning, check the operating direction and verify fully open and fully closed positions and limit settings. If position feedback is provided, compare the control-system indication with the actual valve position.
For interlocked automated systems, command response and feedback should also be checked according to the site control logic.
Application Example
At a certain industrial pipeline, an electric forged steel ball valve was installed for process-media shutoff. Valve specifications and pipeline alignment were checked before installation, followed by actuator wiring verification. During commissioning, operating direction, open/close limits, and feedback status were checked step by step.
Operating Advice
For high-pressure or frequently operated applications, confirm valve operating torque, actuator output capacity, and support conditions before installation. During initial commissioning, test the valve progressively according to the control logic rather than performing repeated continuous operations immediately.
